Jack Harvey has been racing as long as he can remember, and has been winning Championships from the moment he took to a race track. He is one of Britain’s most talented racing drivers and has won eleven Championships since he started competing aged just eleven. His illustrious career has seen him race on some of the most iconic race tracks, from Spa to Silverstone to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
Jack entered the world of racing through karting, racing in the WTP ‘O’ Plate karting Championship where he was crowned Champion in his very first year of competing. He then went on to win a further eight karting Championships over the next four years, firmly cementing his position as one of the hottest talents in British racing.
2009 and 2010 saw Jack graduate to single seaters and the Formula BMW European Series where he dominated his second season with seven wins and a further six podium finishes, and only missed out on the 2010 Championship by a handful of points.
His next move saw him take to the track for the British F3 Series. Despite facing stiff competition from the likes of Carlos Sainz Jnr and Jazeman Jaafar, Jack took the Championship in 2012.
The following year, Jack stepped up to GP3, one of the feeder series for Formula 1, which saw him race on the European Formula 1 circuits. A win at Monza and at his home race in Silverstone saw Jack finish the season as the top rookie driver in fifth place.
2014 marked a move to the States for Jack and the start of his journey to Indy Car. Jack proved he was one to watch from his first Indy Lights race, securing a podium finish and then going on to claim a staggering four wins and five further podium finishes. In a cruel twist of fate, despite winning four of the last five races and tying on Championship points with Gabby Chaves, Chaves took the Championship after clinching more second place finishes.
Jack had another impressive season in Indy Lights in 2015. Another hotly contested Championship saw Jack secure a run of wins and second place finishes to take second place in the Championship.
In 2017 Jack made his Indy Car debut, securing a three race deal, including the opportunity to fulfil a lifelong ambition – competing in the iconic Indy 500. 2018 saw Jack sign a multi-year IndyCar deal with Meyer Shank Racing which will see him contest a select number of races in the 2018 and 2019 Verizon IndyCar Series seasons.
The Indy Car series is the leading single-seater race series in America, and one of the leading racing series globally. It began life as the Indy Racing League (IRL) which was created by then Indianapolis Motor Speedway owner Tony George. In 2008, the Indy Car Series merged with the Champ Car World Series (formerly CART). Today, the Indy Car series encompasses 17 races at a combination of ovals, race tracks and street circuits, with drivers and teams competing from around the world. Perhaps the most famous Indy Car race is the Indy 500, taking place at the end of May, with 2018 marking the 102nd running of this iconic race.
